What are SERPs?

SERP stands for Search Engine Results Page. Search results are the list of websites, articles, videos, and other types of content that search engines (like Google and Bing) show you when you search for something.

When you type a question or keywords into the search bar, the search engine uses complex algorithms to find and display the most relevant and helpful information related to your query.

The search results page usually includes a mix of different types of natural and sponsored results. At the top, you might see ads related to your search. Below the ads, you’ll find organic results – websites that algorithms believe best match what you’re looking for. Sometimes, you’ll also see featured snippets, which are quick answers to your questions, along with images, videos, and links to news articles.

Originally, the goal of search engines was to help you find the information you needed as quickly and easily as possible. But over time, things changed, and now their primary mission seems to be showing you as many ads as they can squeeze in. However, getting a lot of organic traffic through SEO using carefully chosen keywords is still possible in 2024.

Try to find the organic result on this SERP 🙂
